Vernon Memorial Healthcare Foundation Scholarships

Vernon Health Foundation and the Friends of VMH opened their annual scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Friends and Foundation believe in investing in our future through financially supporting individuals pursuing a degree in the healthcare field. Up to $30,000 has been allocated for scholarships for the academic year.

The following eligibility conditions will apply to our existing scholarship program this year:

• Applicants must be residents of Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, or Vernon counties – or be a current VMH Employee to be eligible
• We will be offering up to ten scholarships (five from Vernon Health Foundation and five from The Friends of VMH) valued at $3,000 per scholarship
• Two of the ten scholarships are offered solely to Vernon Health employees (does not need to be in a healthcare field)
• One of the ten scholarships are offered solely to applicants pursuing a career in Nursing

All students pursuing a degree in healthcare who are currently enrolled in college are encouraged to apply. Eligible applicants must either have completed two or more years of a bachelor’s degree program, or be in their final year of a technical, certificate, or associate degree program. Applicants must also have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for the academic year prior to application. Previous applicants and previous award recipients are eligible to reapply. Applications open August 25, 2025, and must be returned by October 31, 2025. Students will be notified of their status by December 31, 2025.
