William Gaumer Endowed Scholarship
Bill started at Western in 1974 as the program head in the Emergency Medical Technician Program. He was a dedicated and well-respected instructor at Western for 21 years. Bill believed in what he taught in EMS. Not only did he teach EMS, but he also lived it. When he wasn’t teaching, he worked as a RN-EMT for Tri-State Ambulance and as a RN in the emergency room at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He always tried to instill in his students that to be able to touch a life in helping someone was a great gift to give. Bill has touched many lives and that will continue through his students that he grew to know as his friends.
This scholarship was endowed by his wife, Shari, his family, students, friends, and co-workers at Western.
