Wenzel "Blackie" Stanek Endowed Scholarship
Wenzel Stanek retired from Western August 31, 1985, as building maintenance supervisor after 15 years of faithful, loyal, and dedicated service to the students, staff, and Board.
Wenzel, known as “Blackie” to the staff and students, devoted many hours to ensure that the district’s facilities were maintained in an efficient manner. Whenever there was a problem, one could depend on “Blackie” to solve the problem in an efficient and pleasant manner. He took pride in the performance of his duties.
Blackie died on September 25, 1986. Because of his sincere interest in students, Western staff, family, and friends endowed a scholarship in his name.
