Shawn and Mary Jo Werner Scholarship for Enthusiastic Students

Shawn and Mary Jo Werner are long time supporters of rural areas near La Crosse, WI. Mary Jo grew up in Crawford and Winona counties, and both Shawn and Mary Jo have lived in or around La Crosse for most of their lives. Shawn owned a bicycle shop, Bikes Limited, and many of his customers were from rural areas. Mary Jo was a CPA and many of her clients resided in rural areas. Providing this scholarship is a way of saying ‘thank you’ to those customers who have helped Shawn and Mary Jo achieve their career goals.

Both of them have a deep appreciation for the extra effort it takes to live in rural areas. There are additional costs in having to commute distances for classes and supplies, as well as paying for computer connections to be able to prepare assignments. Shawn and Mary Jo want to invest in these students and ease the financial burden by providing a scholarship to help them achieve their academic goals.
