Mary Milne Endowed Scholarship
In 1955, Mary (Teen) Milne came to La Crosse, Wisconsin, with her husband and three children. For several years she enjoyed being a homemaker and mother, doing volunteer work and participating in numerous clubs and organizations. Always longing to become a nurse, when WWTI started their LPN program in the mid-sixties, Teen applied and was accepted into the program. Her daughter graduated in her mother’s footsteps, became an RN when she was 35 years old. For these reasons this scholarship is geared towards a nontraditional student.
Teen loved being a nurse, working part-time in La Crosse, and later in Florida where she and her husband moved in 1984.
Teen died in January of 1997. In loving memory of her and her love of nursing, her children have endowed a nursing scholarship in her name. We are sure that she’s smiling down on us, happy, knowing she is helping a nursing student attain his or her goal.
