Martin L. and Dorthy Schlegel Endowed Scholarship

Martin and Dorthy were married in 1953. Martin was employed by the then C. B. & Q. Railroad as a fireman, advancing to being an engineer. He worked for the railroad over 40 years. Dorthy was not employed after marriage and enjoyed gardening and volunteer work.
The medical field is of interest to them both as Martin’s sisters Margaret and Elizabeth were trained in the nursing field and his brother worked at Mayo Clinic.
It is their wish to see as many as possible advance to higher education in the medical field.
Martin passed away in January 1998, Dorthy passed away in May 2017.
