M. "Joyce" Weise Memorial Scholarship

Joyce graduated with academic honors from the registered nurse associate degree program at Western in 1977. During her time at Western she had raised 5 children at home alone after a divorce in 1974. Joyce went on to get her Bachelor’s of degree from University of Arlington Texas. She was a leader in many areas. She was on the board of the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin, she was the president of the La Crosse AARP chapter for many years, she was Chief election inspector for the City of Lacrosse for several years, she helped with the Blood Center of Wisconsin blood drives and an active member with the local NARFE organization plus. She also supported Western through her donations plus she supported other great organizations.
