Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary Endowed Scholarship
The Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary was organized in 1950 as a volunteer group of 11 women. Today, this organization of 350 men and women continues to support the hospital through service and fundraising efforts. Since it began more than 40 years ago, the Auxiliary has raised over $1 million dollars and has donated hundreds of thousands of service hours to help Lutheran Hospital provide exceptional health care for residents of the Tri-State Region.
The Auxiliary’s primary means of generating revenue is through annual fundraising events and the operation of the Lutheran Hospital Gift Shop. These funds are used to purchase innovative equipment and furnishings for the hospital, subsidize healthcare educational opportunities for the community and provide scholarships to area colleges and universities.
Because the Auxiliary believes that education is the key to ensuring the quality of healthcare in the Tri-State Region, it is committed to helping area students enrolled in healthcare careers. Since 1979, the Auxiliary has given scholarships to a number of WTC students.
