Lorin Gasterland Endowed Scholarship
Lorin A. Gasterland was a firm believer in education all of his life. After serving on the Richfield, Minnesota School Board for many years, Lorin accepted an appointment to the Hennepin County Vocational Technical School Board. During his time on the board, vocational schools were built in Eden Prairie and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. These schools serve as the primary providers of vocational technical education in Hennepin County. Following his term on the Hennepin County Vocational Technical School Board where he ended his appointment as chairman, Lorin was appointed to the Minnesota State Board of Education where he served for many years with distinction. Lorin A. Gasterland was one of the original investors in the Coulee State Bank of La Crosse. His children, who have established this scholarship in his memory, now own this bank.
