Jack E Proksch Scholarship/La Crosse Area Restaurant Association Endowed Scholarship
Jack E. Proksch died unexpectedly in 1984. From the many gifts received in his memory, his parents, Ken and Shirley Proksch, former owners of the New Villa and Moxie’s restaurants, chose to establish a memorial fund to assist persons pursuing an education in the restaurant industry. The Foundation was selected recipient of this fund because graduates from WWTC have worked in both restaurants. “I believe in education,” said Proksch, “WWTC is filling a niche that we need.” Memorial funds and other money from the Proksch family were matched dollar for dollar by the La Crosse Area Restaurant Association to endow the La Crosse Area Restaurant/Jack E. Proksch Scholarship Fund. Students eligible for this scholarship must be from the six county districts covered by the Restaurant Association.
