Dave Elkins/Western Technical College Staff Scholarship of Excellence Endowed Scholarship

Dave Elkins was a member of the Western Student Services staff for 22 years, joining Coleman Technical Institute in 1968. He previously spent 15 years as an educator in high schools counseling, teaching, and coaching.
Dave was a firm believer in the importance of higher education and that as many young men and women as possible should have the opportunity to further their own education. He cared very deeply for the well being of his students, encouraging them through the years; Dave visited many high schools promoting these ideals. Dave would be extremely honored to know that the ‘Dave Elkins Western Staff Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to a very bright and deserving area high school student. Dave died June 17, 1998.
