Charlotte (Lottie) Marnarch Endowed Scholarship

Charlotte (Lottie) Marnach was a hard-working businesswoman and mother of six children, who was born and raised in Caledonia, Minnesota. Charlotte along with her husband operated several bar/restaurants in Caledonia. Her last business was the Marnach Hotel Restaurant and Bowling Alley, which she operated until her retirement, then sold the business to two of her sons. She was the head cook and manager, assisted by her children. She was known throughout the area as a great cook, wonderful mother, generous person, and friend to all.
Mary Ellen, a successful housewife and mother and Vernon (Bud) Marnach the retired president of United Auto Supply of La Crosse, are long-time residents of Caledonia and parents of ten children. It is their hope this scholarship will be the start of a successful career and a rewarding, productive life for the recipient.
