Anita G. Smith Endowed Scholarship

Anita G. Smith retired from Western as chairperson of the Health Occupations Division in 1984 after serving in this capacity for 15 years. During her tenure as chairperson, the division grew from four programs to twelve programs, offering citizens of the District a wide range of health care programs for career development. All programs were fully accredited by appropriate professional organizations assuring the quality of the programs.

Because of her sincere interest in students, belief in the value of quality education, and her personal knowledge of the need to financially assist students she established an endowed scholarship in her name in 1985 for students in health related fields of study.
