ACRO Club Endowed Scholarship
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Organization is a student club at Western, which was started over ten years ago.
The purpose of the club is to raise money to sponsor a field trip to an air conditioning and refrigeration facility each year so students may become familiar with modern equipment. The money raised by the club also helps assist students in attending workshops and seminars on advancements in modern technology, refrigeration and air conditioning.
In the 1987-88 school year, ACRO members, on the advice of the faculty, voted to donate money to the Foundation to create an endowed scholarship for a student in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing programs. Roger Horstman, assisted by the faculty in the two programs, is the advisor.
